Alco Helado was founded in 2016 by Tim Bryson and Brian Dunbar Jr., who had the idea of bringing every drink that you could get at a bar... to ice cream. They spent three years experimenting and perfecting their recipes and have created unique and delicious alcohol-infused ice cream flavors that are made with just enough alcohol to give you a nice buzz, but not enough to overpower the unique flavor in every bite.
The idea for Alco Helado was first thought of by Tim while he was studying abroad in Ecuador and he wanted to pay homage to that time with the name of the business.
"Alco Helado" is taken from two Spanish words: "Helado" meaning "Ice Cream" and "Alco" meaning "Alcohol". Together, "Alco Helado" means "Alcoholic Ice Cream" in Spanish, but "Helado" is pronounced "el-ado" because the "H" is always silent in Spanish.
Our flavors currently have small trace amounts of Sodium Caseinate, which technically makes our product “Non-dairy”, but Sodium Caseinate is known to cause problems for some people with severe dairy allergies.
